Success Stories

Recovering from addiction is much easier said than done. It's a physical and mental battle that requires a strong support system and a personal desire to change. The Caring Together program provides that support system and helps women face their addictions and improve their lives.

Below you'll read stories from women who participated in the Caring Together program. They've gone on to lead healthy, sober lives and we hope that their success stories inspire other women who are currently battling addiction to seek the help that they need.

"I always thought of myself as a functioning addict. Throughout 40 years of drug and alcohol abuse, I worked honest jobs and never lost my home. It wasn't until June 2011 when my son got me to detox and I was referred to the Caring Together program that I realized there was no such thing as a functioning addict—an addict is an addict. And like most addicts I was simply trying to justify my use. The Caring Together program and the women I met there gave me a different outlook on a life without drugs and alcohol. I realized it wasn't something to be afraid of, but rather something to be embraced. I've now been clean since July 10, 2011 (743 days as I'm writing this) and couldn't be happier. My sobriety has allowed me to reestablish a relationship with my son and his daughter. This past Mother's Day was a pleasant reminder of how good it feels to be sober. I'm eternally grateful to Dr. Schindler, Ms. Gina, Eric and everyone else at the Caring Together program."
