Meet Jesse Telles, LCSW

Jesse Telles, LCSW, Behavioral Health Consultant, Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice

August 11, 2025

Jesse performs a unique role at the Partnership, as a behavioral health consultant in our clinic and on Drexel’s HOPE mobile unit.

In our clinic, she is responsible for assisting patients in achieving their wellness objectives, which may include improving treatment adherence, smoking cessation, managing blood pressure, stress reduction and enhancing mental health. Her role involves conducting trauma-informed assessments, providing brief counseling, offering referrals, and facilitating linkage to resources for individuals experiencing substance use disorders or mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief and trauma.

On Drexel’s HOPE mobile unit, Jesse delivers community-based support, utilizing a low-threshold and harm reduction approach to testing and treatment for HIV, viral hepatitis and substance use disorders. In addition to behavioral health services, she provides case management support for individuals initiating medications, such as Suboxone, as part of their recovery process and she squeezes in time to oversee our peer specialists.

What drew you to health care, and how did you get started?

My commitment to supporting others has long been a source of motivation and fulfillment for me. My interest in HIV care began after experiencing the loss of a friend to AIDS, which inspired me to offer the kind of support he needed during his illness. I am grateful for the opportunity to assist individuals in accessing health care, maintaining treatment adherence and connecting with essential resources. Additionally, my dedication to expanding health care access for underserved populations motivated me to join Drexel HOPE. Delivering health care services directly within communities and offering low-barrier support to those in need is, in my view, invaluable.

What is your favorite hobby, activity or creative outlet?

I love to read, bake and go for walks in nature. Lately these activities involve a well-meaning yet chaotic toddler, making them even more exciting.

What is your favorite memory of working here?

As a baker, probably our annual holiday cookie contests.

What is something surprising that not many people know about you?

I am a twin! And I know how to juggle.
