LGBTQ+-Affirming Care
The Partnership is committed to providing skilled, respectful and compassionate care to members of the LGBTQ+ community for whom we provide primary care services. We offer:
- Affirming primary care
- Sexual health
- Gender-affirming care, including:
- Gender-affirming hormone therapy
- Referrals to specialty care, including gender-affirming surgical care
- Referrals to legal services (ex. for name and gender-marker changes)
- Letters of support for gender-affirming surgeries
Our services are available to patients who receive primary care at the Partnership.
The Partnership works to remove barriers to health care to improve the health and well-being of our patients, including our LGBTQ+ patients.
Members of the LGBTQ+ community may face many health disparities and access barriers in health care, including:
- Lower rates of insurance
- Higher rates of discrimination in health care settings
- More negative experiences with health care providers
- Higher rates of HIV and other STIs
- Lower rates of cervical cancer screenings
- Higher rates of depression and anxiety
- Higher rates of smoking and substance use disorders
- Higher rates of stigma, discrimination and violence victimization
