Substance Use Disorder
The Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice takes a harm reduction approach to substance use. This approach respects the rights of people who use drugs; it also aims to reduce the negative impacts of substance misuse on a person’s life.
The National Harm Reduction Coalition defines harm reduction as a set of practical strategies and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with drug use. Harm Reduction is also a movement for social justice built on a belief in, and respect for, the rights of people who use drugs.
We offer medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). MOUD can help with withdrawal, decreaserisk of overdose and reduce transmission of infectious diseases.
We also provide evidence-based harm reduction tools such as:
- Naloxone (Narcan) fentanyl test strips
- Discussing safer drug use practices
